Ingredients to avoid

- Artificial fragrance — common irritant; opt for fragrance-free or essential-oil-based.
- Parabens — linked to skin sensitivity in long-term use.
The pH question
Human skin is slightly acidic; pet skin is more neutral. Never use human shampoo on pets, even baby shampoo, as the wrong pH disrupts the skin barrier.
